| history

The Reeves Downtown School of Music was established in 2021 at the former Foothills Arts Council location on Church Street in Elkin, North Carolina, in association with The Reeves Theatre & Café. Their founding mission is to provide exceptional year-round musical education, expose students to diverse musical expression, inspire future generations of musicians, and enhance the arts in the Yadkin Valley.

Offerings include classes taught by regular and visiting instructors ranging in scope from introduction to traditional folk instruments to musical theatre and finding your musical voice. A full list of their current classes can be found here.

The Reeves Downtown School of Music is also home to the Elkin chapter of the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program.
