Teaching at the Foothills Arts Center provides an exciting opportunity to enrich the lives of students ranging in skill from novice to advanced through quality visual and performing arts education. Due to the recent acquisition of the historic 45,000 square foot building that houses the Foothills Arts Center, many of our programs are still in the early stages of development. Our current instructional staff is comprised of both studio artists and educators with formal experience teaching in academic settings. Some of our instructors are considered masters in their respective fields.

We are seeking individuals who are organized, dedicated to their craft, and committed to nurturing program development in their area of expertise. Interested individuals should be prepared to be instrumental in creating structure for classes and courses that may not have existed previously. As an instructor at the Foothills Arts Center, your tasks may include — but are not limited to — designing curriculum, determining pacing, and enhancing the studio space with the tools required for your skill by working closely with the directors to develop proposed budgets, acquire grant, foundation, or community-sourced funding, and implement a routine for maintaining the space and its respective tools.

It is imperative that our instructors have a strong desire to share the love of their art with their students. A willingness to collaborate with colleagues for the betterment of the student experience is as essential as presenting strong interpersonal communication skills. In addition to preparing engaging lessons, our instructors oftentimes utilize their network of creative friends and colleagues to design exciting student experiences involving guest lecturers and field assignments. If the idea of organizing something new is captivating to you, this unique adventure might be the perfect fit for you!
