Tapestry Weavers South is committed to the progression of the art and skill of tapestry weaving. Through their yearly New Works exhibition, generously supported by the Yadkin Valley Fiber Center, these gifted artists are actively achieving that goal. The showcase features a delightful array of expertly crafted tapestries, available for viewing at The Yadkin Valley Fiber Center, located at 113 West Main Street, Elkin, NC 28621.

The show opened on June 2 and closes on September 30. Viewers may see the show during Second Friday Open Studios (Friday, August 11 and Friday, September 8) from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. The show may also be viewed by appointment; to schedule an appointment, please contact Leslie Fesperman, director of the Yadkin Valley Fiber Center.

| images | Follow the Thread (above, front and back); in honor of Archie Brennan, Master Weaver and Instructor (1931-2019) The tapestry postcard banner honoring our teachers and influencers is a homage to Archie Brennan, who wove and mailed his first tapestry piece in 1974. Archie, always contrarian, decided to weave a simple postcard, something that would normally take a few minutes to fill out, that instead required hours of planning and execution.
